The Thursday Night Football Week 8 matchup could be highly entertaining, though some player absences are impacting both teams.

The Arizona Cardinals are the only undefeated team left in the NFL. The Green Bay Packers haven’t lost since the season opener and are at 6-1.

Both of these teams are hoping to beat out Tampa Bay to get the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and a victory here could help with that.

Thursday Night Football Picks and Predictions

We are 13-11 so far this year with our prime-time picks. Here are a few that look interesting for Packers/Cardinals:

1. Green Bay/Arizona UNDER 50.5

We’ve already seen line movement downward with the news that star WR Davante Adams would miss the game. Green Bay will also be without Allen Lazard, which could lead to more ball control and running based on personnel.

2. Arizona (-6.5)

Between the Packers’ injuries on defense, the loss of Adams for this game, and a short week of preparation with a depleted receiving group, this is a slight lean to Arizona against the number, especially getting under the key number of 7.

3. Aaron Rodgers OVER 8.5 Rushing Yards (-125)

Rodgers has run more the last two games after barely rushing to start the season. Without his top WR, expect more aggressive man coverage from Arizona to challenge the receivers. Factoring in Chandler Jones’ pass-rushing, expect Rodgers to pull it down and scramble enough to clear this number.

Five of the seven starting QBs that Arizona has faced this year have gone for double-digit rushing yards.

Packers & Cardinals Betting Trends

  • Rodgers as a Big Dog: Since 2011, the Packers are 1-9 SU and 4-6 ATS in games started by Aaron Rodgers where they are a 5-point underdog or greater.
  • Packers Streaking: Green Bay has covered six straight games, all by 6.5 points or fewer, after losing the season opener by 35 points to the Saints.
  • Cardinals On Fire: Arizona is also 6-1 ATS, with the only non-cover being against Minnesota in a one-point victory in Week 2. That was also the only game where an Arizona opponent scored more than 20 points.
