Fantasy Football RB Rankings 2024

Here are our free fantasy football RB rankings for 2024. We list the primary “scoring” categories for the RB position in fantasy football: rushing attempts, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns, along with receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. If you want to see more detail that includes things like yards per carry, yards per catch, and targets, you can check out our fantasy football RB projections page.

Our data-driven approach is then to rank Running Backs by their predicted fantasy football points scored in the 2024 season. If you want to use these Fantasy Football RB rankings as a draft guide, rather than strictly follow the exact order, you can also see the predicted fantasy points and the differences among players. You could use that information to identify tiers of players for your draft. A 10-point difference in projected fantasy points at the RB position, for example, may be one touchdown and 40 total yards of difference in our projected stats. That’s reasonably close, and a small adjustment could swap those rankings.

Focus on Fantasy Points Differences, Versus Fantasy Football RB Rankings Differences

You should be more concerned with the difference in fantasy points than the difference in the fantasy football RB rankings. The difference between Christian McCaffrey and a running back just a few slots lower may be more than the difference between our 10th-ranked and 20th-ranked running backs.

If you wanted to exchange Josh Jacobs for Travis Etienne in the rankings, our projections are close enough that is a reasonable call. However, switching Etienne for Rhamondre Stevenson would be a much bigger reach. Anything can happen over the course of the season, but based on what we know now, Etienne projects as more likely to score above Stevenson and thus is ranked higher for a reason.

Using Average Draft Position Data with Our Fantasy Football RB Rankings

You can also use average draft position (ADP) information to decide which player to take and where the right spot to draft a player we have ranked higher than others. If you are looking at two running backs in our fantasy football RB rankings that are very close, you might consider first grabbing the one who is expected to be drafted soon, and see if you can get the other in a few rounds, if we are higher than the consensus on that player.

Having the best draft involves getting the best player you can, at the point in the draft where you need to take them to insure they are on your roster. So you should try to account for where you think players will go in your draft format.
