ESPN Fantasy Football Projections 2020

This page shows the statistical projections for all players, and also shows scoring for ESPN Fantasy Football scoring formats for those underlying projections.

Our ESPN Fantasy Football projections largely mirror PPR scoring format for QB, RB, WR, TE. The Kicker and Defense/Special Teams positions have their own unique scoring compared to some other leagues. Kickers can lose points for misses and get yardage bonuses. Defenses can gain or lose points based on yards in addition to points.

Do Not Draft Directly Off These ESPN Fantasy Football Projections

This page provides projections and is sorted by total projected fantasy points. But you should draft based on value, and the difference in how much a player will score relative to others at the same position that you could draft later.

Quarterbacks, for example, tend to rank highly in scoring, but since most leagues start only one at a time, their value is suppressed. To see how we suggest you draft players, you should go to our ESPN Fantasy Football Rankings page.

Using the 2020 ESPN Fantasy Football Projections to Identify Undervalued Players on ESPN

Comparing our ESPN Fantasy Football rankings to ESPN’s early average draft position (ADP) data highlights a few values, specific to how players are ranked on ESPN. Here are some players that are going much lower in ESPN-specific drafts than where they project in our rankings:

  • RB Joe Mixon: The Bengals RB is going near the end of the 2nd round, but is in the late first round range in our ESPN fantasy football rankings.

  • RB Austin Ekeler: Ekeler should be favored in formats that give points for receptions, like ESPN, but is going significantly lower in ESPN ADP than where we project him.

  • RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire: The Chiefs rookie was going higher on most sites than on ESPN even before the news of Damien Williams opting out of this season. Our projections, which are not aggressive with the fantasy market on Edwards-Helaire, have him well above that.

  • WR Darius Slayton: Darius Slayton of the Giants is a potential breakout candidate. But he’s going even lower on ESPN formats than other sites, and our projection is much higher than his 11th to 12th round cost in ESPN drafts.
