Week 7 of the 2021 NFL season wraps up with the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints clashing on Monday Night Football.

The Seahawks are playing their third straight prime-time game, and the second in a row with Geno Smith at quarterback. Meanwhile, the Saints get back in action after their bye week.

New Orleans has been figuring out life without Drew Brees, while Seattle is trying to get by without quarterback Russell Wilson for at least three more weeks.

Which team can put together the most complete performance? It could wind up affecting the NFC playoff race.

Here are our top picks for the Seahawks-Saints game.

New Orleans -4

The Seahawks showed some fight last week against Pittsburgh after trailing 14-0, and they had a chance to win on the road in their first game without Wilson. But they’re still last in total yards allowed this year, and the drop-off to Smith is sizable for a team that needs consistent big plays out of the offense to win.

Meanwhile, New Orleans ranks first in yards per carry allowed (3.3) and has allowed only 395 rushing yards through five games. Seattle got going in the second half against Pittsburgh with its ground game, but that will be more challenging in this one. That could mean needing Smith to make more plays.

We included both of these quarterbacks in our Player Props picks for Week 7, where we are 5-2 so far on QB passing-yard over/unders.

Winston is averaging only 178 passing yards per game on the season. But he’s gone over his passing-yard totals in each of the last two games, and he threw for at least 226 yards in both.

Meanwhile, Smith threw for only 209 yards in his first start for Seattle in a game that went to overtime.

But given Seattle’s poor pass defense (28th in passing yards allowed) and New Orleans’ strong run defense, we project both to exceed their passing-yard expectations in this game.
