Half-PPR Fantasy Football Rankings

Here are our Half-PPR Fantasy Football rankings for 2023. They represent how we think players should be drafted in a Half-PPR format, across all positions. If you want to see how we rank players within their position for Half-PPR Scoring, you can check out our projections page and rankings page for each position.

How We Determined Value for the Half-PPR Fantasy Football Rankings

We list players in these Half-PPR Fantasy Football rankings based on our “value” calculation. The value at each position is determined by using a different baseline for each position, depending on scoring format and league size. The baseline is set by the average projected scoring of a group of players from the same position, who are near the line of being drafted onto a roster.

We also adjust the draft value at each position based on whether they have multiple starters or not, so the value at positions like QB, TE, K, and DST are adjusted downward relative to RB and WR. The reason for this is that you are more likely to get points from top players in your lineup if there are multiple starting spots available. You are more likely to “platoon” or alternate starters at QB, than you are to sit your top RB, where you need several other better options to not have them in the lineup.

Finally, value also includes consideration of how consistent the position is in fantasy football. Positions that are less consistent, like kicker and defense, have their value reduced in our Half-PPR Fantasy Football Rankings.

The Half-PPR Fantasy Football Rankings Most Closely Resemble Average Draft Position

Our Half-PPR Fantasy Football rankings happen to come the closest to resembling average draft position data. That makes sense, since it is between two other popular types of scoring systems. But the average drafter doesn’t adjust as much as they should for the impact of differing scoring systems. So whereas our standard rankings may have quarterbacks going earlier, and PPR have them going later, in a half-PPR format, they appear in our rankings about at the same point as they do in ADP data.
