Injuries hit the running back position in Week 6, with several starters potentially out for next week. Those injuries include Miles Sanders, Joe Mixon, and Raheem Mostert.

Here is a rundown of our top waiver wire recommendations heading to Week 6. You can read below for why we have each player on our list.

  1. RB Boston Scott, Philadelphia
  2. TE Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia
  3. RB Giovani Bernard, Cincinnati
  4. WR Travis Fulgham, Philadelphia
  5. RB Tevin Coleman, San Francisco
  6. WR Tim Patrick, Denver
  7. TE Anthony Firkser, Tennessee
  8. QB Carson Wentz, Philadelphia
  9. WR Corey Davis, Tennessee
  10. JaMycal Hasty, San Francisco

Others to Consider: QB Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins (named starter after bye week); TE Trey Burton, Indianapolis (opportunities with injuries at tight end at wide receiver), RB Lamical Perine, New York Jets (could be starter soon, even though it’s a bad offense), WR Dontrelle Inman (Dallas pass defense matchup play).

Boston Scott

With Miles Sanders out on Thursday, Scott should get the majority of the running back work against the Giants. Given the matchup, he’s worth a flex start, especially in PPR leagues.

Dallas Goedert

Goedert isn’t expected to be back this week, but if you can have a little patience, and if he is sitting out on the waiver wire buried because of his injury, he has Top 5 tight end upside when he returns, thanks to Zach Ertz’ injury that should keep him out for awhile.

Giovani Bernard

Joe Mixon could miss the next matchup against the Browns, and if that’s the case, Bernard is a good starting option for one week.

Travis Fulgham

Travis Fulgham was already highlighted last week, and continues to be Carson Wentz’ top weapon with all the offensive injuries. He’s Mr. Right Now, with a shot to be Mr. Right for much of the season if he keeps producing.

Tevin Coleman

Coleman is another patience/look-ahead play due to Raheem Mostert’s high ankle sprain. Coleman isn’t expected back this week, but could get a decent share of the 49ers rushing totals when he does return now.

Tim Patrick

With Courtland Sutton out for the year, Tim Patrick continues to produce as a starter in Denver. Over his last three starts, he has 14 catches, 257 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Anthony Firkser

This one depends on the status of Jonnu Smith, who left the Week 6 game with an ankle injury and will be questionable to return for this week. Firkser put up over 100 yards receiving in a shootout last week with Smith out of the game.

Carson Wentz

Say what you want about all the injuries, but Wentz has quietly been putting up fantasy performances, in large part to his rushing ability, and the matchup against the Giants makes him a low-end QB1 this week.

Corey Davis

Davis doesn’t have a great matchup this week against the Steelers, but he does come back from the Covid-Reserve list after a good three-week start to the season, and could be a speculative add to see if his play continues in an efficient Titans passing attack.

JaMycal Hasty

Hasty may be an option this week, albeit one with some risk because you never know how much of a role he will have with San Francisco. The rookie did end up with 9 rushes and 37 yards after Raheem Mostert’s injury last week, and could be in line for a decent platoon role this week. He’s a “I need someone” start if you are desperate and have RBs on bye or injured.
