Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings 2023

These are our Fantasy Football Kicker rankings for 2023. As we note in our projections, these rankings are based on team projections for how the kicking game should do this year, based on past performance and other characteristics of the team (how many wins they are expected to have, how many points the team scored the year before, and how many field goals were made and attempted the previous year, among other factors).

You should think of these as less individual rankings, and more team kicker rankings in the sense that you should downgrade an individual in early drafts if there is a risk he does not win the job.

Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings are Up and Down

One thing to keep in mind with fantasy football kickers is how volatile the position is. It’s generally a good idea to target kickers from good offenses, and those who kick in generally advantageous climate conditions, such as domes or in fair weather locales. But the specific number of attempts can depend on other factors, such as whether the team performs poorly in the red zone (but gets there regularly). Add in some injury risk, and that we are talking about relatively rare events, as even the best kickers may average two made field goals a game, and it’s a more unpredictable position.

Waiting on Fantasy Football Kickers is Usually a Good Move

Because of the position volatility, it’s often best to wait to draft a kicker until late. This is especially true if your league is likely to have lots of kickers available on the waiver wire to “stream” (or pickup new ones each week based on matchups). So use these Fantasy Football Kicker rankings to identify good values late, who you can still get while not investing too heavily in the position, but give you a chance for top kicking performance.
