First TD Scorer Predictions: Super Bowl 59

First TD prop bets require finding the right balance of opportunity, matchup potential, and price. However, given the variance and long-shot odds, managing expectations is key.

Keep in mind that extended cold streaks are a real possibility when dealing with longer odds, so it’s essential to manage your bankroll accordingly.

Here’s our First TD Scorer Predictions for Super Bowl 59:

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts – First TD (+650)

Take note we are selecting this at BetMGM, which has the best odds for this prop and a great First TD promo:

As for the prop itself — the “Tush Push” is alive and well, helping Hurts score four rushing touchdowns in the last two games. When looking at only the games Hurts has played, the Eagles QB is tied with RB Saquon Barkley for the most first Philadelphia touchdowns (both with 5). Barkley has +400 odds to record the game’s first touchdown, so we are taking the value with Hurts in this spot.

Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt – First Team TD (+450)

We are taking Hunt to score Kansas City’s first touchdown. You could consider him the first overall touchdown scorer for +950 odds. However, by taking his First Team TD Scorer Prop, we can hit both bets instead of just hedging them.

Hunt has scored the first-team touchdown in both playoff games this season, and he leads the Chiefs with five first-team touchdowns in 15 games.

Anytime TD Scorer Predictions: Super Bowl 59

If we like a player to score the first touchdown of the game, then he naturally will pique our interest for an Anytime TD as well. However, that’s not always the case, as the odds still need to make sense in the Anytime TD betting market.

Here are our Anytime TD Scorer Predictions for Super Bowl 59 and where to bet them:

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts – Anytime TD (-110)

BetMGM reported that Saquon Barkley (-200) is the most popular Anytime TD bet leading to Super Bowl 59. That’s not a bad wager, but we’d rather take much shorter odds with Hurts (-110), especially considering he’ll get the goal-line carries inside the two-yard line.

Hurts has 18 rushing touchdowns in 15 games this season. He has scored an Anytime TD in 10 of his last 13 outings, and one of those misses was due to injury.

Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt – Anytime TD (+145)

We have 10 premium props for BetIQ subscribers (you can view them here), and this is one of them. Hunt has established himself as the goal-line back for Kansas City, while fellow RB Isiah Pacheco has struggled since returning from injury.

Hunt has found the end-zone in four straight games, and the opportunities should keep coming his way. The Eagles allowed the second-fewest rushing touchdowns to running backs in the regular season, but this is a situation where the price and volume outweigh the matchup.

First & Anytime TD Scorer Props: FAQ

Touchdown scorer props come with specific rules that can sometimes be unclear. Below, we answer the most common questions to help you understand how these bets work.

What Does First TD Scorer Mean?

This bet wins if your selected player scores the first touchdown of the game. Field goals and safeties do not count. The touchdown is awarded to the player who crosses the goal line with the ball.

What Does First Team TD Scorer Mean?

This bet wins if your selected player scores the first touchdown for their team, regardless of when it happens in the game.

What Does Anytime TD Scorer Mean?

This bet wins if your selected player scores a touchdown at any point during the game, including overtime.

Do TD Scorer Props Include Passing?

No. Passing touchdowns do not count for quarterbacks. The player must physically cross the goal line with the ball or catch the ball in the end zone to be credited with a touchdown.

Passing touchdowns have their own category for quarterbacks, separate from first and anytime touchdowns.

Do TD Scorer Props Include Overtime?

Yes, Anytime TD Props include overtime, meaning your bet is still live if the game goes beyond regulation. This is the case at most sportsbooks unless otherwise stated as “No OT” in the title or description of these props.
